Wow, so have all of you zombie geeks checked out David Wellington's zombie books yet? www.thirteenbullets.com. I'm not so certain I want to live in this zombie world, but the first book was fun anyway. I love the DIY way he seems to have gotten his books published too.

So the new lp Modern Gameplay is available for order from Darla Records now. The official street date is September 18th, but you can get your hands on a copy early by ordering direct.

We were a little surprised that I Started a Blog Nobody Read leaked out onto the Internet via a website. But web nerds everywhere seem to be appreciating the song, and that makes us quite happy. Thanks very much for the nice emails. We hope you'll check out some of our other songs too.

We'll be playing some shows later this fall. Maybe see you then?

Out now from Darla Records is Little Darla Has a Treat for You vol. 24. Everybody knows this long running, classic series is one of the best compilations for discovering cool new music. This volume is especially cool though. Not only does it include Sprites' George Romero from the new lp, it is also the first two disc set in the Little Darla series. Pretty amazing. The compilation includes tracks from Boyracer, Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins, I Am Robot and Proud, Mahogany, Saloon, Voxtrot, The Positions, New Radiant Storm Kings and way, way more. 34 tracks in all. Nice summer soundtrack!

The new Sprites full length, MODERN GAMEPLAY, is finally complete! The album will be released on Darla Records in July. Darla is taking pre-orders for the record now which you can order by clicking here.

The artwork was created by Mark Robinson/teenbeat graphica who also designed the "starling" lp as well as all of the Barcelona records. I have to say this is probably one of my favorite covers he has designed, so thanks very much Mark!

I hope that you will enjoy the record as much as I am. It was written over the course of a year with the full Sprites band, then recorded kind of reclusively by Amy and me with various friends popping in to help. Its a lot different than the acoustic-y first lp. (I apparantly rediscovered my synthesizers and drum machines and went a little crazy.) But then again, there are certain things I like to write songs about, so its really not so different.
